Hi! I'm Kelsey, a graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology with a strong academic background and extensive experience working with children. I earned bachelor's degrees in Marketing and Supply Chain Logistics from Mississippi State University, where I also graduated from the Shackouls Honors College. I am now continuing my education in Speech-Language Pathology, with coursework and experiences focused on communication, language, development, and working with pediatric populations.
I have approximately one year of one-on-one tutoring experience with a fourth-grade student, primarily helping with math and homework. I focused on breaking problems into smaller, manageable steps, working through examples together, and finding new ways to explain concepts when something wasn't clicking. I also grew up helping my younger brother with schoolwork and have many years of experience working with children through nannying, babysitting, volunteering, and experiences in school and other pediatric settings.
I am especially interested in tutoring elementary-aged students in math, reading, writing, homework help, and general academic skills. I take a patient and encouraging approach and understand that every child learns differently. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions, work through mistakes, strengthen their skills, and ultimately feel more confident in the classroom.
