ADHD

ADHD

I have taught many students who were medically diagnosed as ADD or ADHD. Several of these students were given special accommodations for learning (extra time on tests, special seating arrangements, additional teacher assistance and monitoring, specialized homework & classwork assignments/testing, etc.). Often, there was a Special Education teacher in the classroom to accommodate the student for "Inclusion Teaching."
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I hold a Master's of Education Degree (AA Mississippi Educator's License) for teaching K-8th grades, along with a Reading Endorsement for K-12 grades. I have taught 7th and 8th grade for two years, 6th grade for five years, 3rd grade for one year, Kindergarten through 5th grades for one year, and Preschool for 3 years. Additionally, I have taught High School for 3 years and College for ten years.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I taught middle school (6th, 7th, 8th grades) math for 2 years.

The English curriculum that was taught included grammar, vocabulary, spelling, sentence structure, word recognition, context clues, subject/verb agreement, parts of speech, word parts, capitalization, punctuation, word meaning, and reading comprehension.
GED

GED

I have taught College Education and Developmental Studies classes for over eight years. Most of these college classes were Remedial Reading classes, which is a vital subject area for preparing for the GED. Because I have taught college level classes, I feel completely confident in my qualifications for preparing students for taking the GED.

Great great tutor

Donna is a great tutor who was very helpful for my son, whether it be helping him with assignments, studying, essay proofreading, or test prep. She is very patient and diligent, and she also found out what parts of English my son was strong or weak in and worked to improve those areas. She is very easy to reach and always responds quickly (reasonable hours of course). I can not recommend Donna enough, she helped my son and I am sure she will be able to help your children as well. Thank you so much!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Donna is an excellent tutor. My son has been taking reading and writing lessons from her and she has been very helpful teaching him how to write paragraphs. She knows her subject well and also tailors her instruction according to student needs. She takes the time to research and gets the proper materials to teach. She is patient, dedicated and passionate about her teaching. I have been very happy with her tutoring and would continue my son's lessons with her. I would definitely recommend Donna.

Paragraph writing technique

Ms. Donna is a great teacher. I have learned so much from her. Writing is my weakness, but she has taught me how to be strong in that area. Also writing has helped with spelling and using different words with the same meaning.
