I am French and currently living in Mississippi. I earned a PhD in Biology (cell and molecular physiology) in France in 2001, then joined the University of Iowa as a post-doctoral researcher for 10 years (muscle and adipose physiology). During my undergraduate and graduate studies, I also worked as middle/high school counselor and regularly tutored students in science.

We engaged Ms. Severine to teach my daughter High School Biology. We are glad throughout having sought her help, as my daughter benefited immensely. It has been a great learning experience for my daughter, as Ms. Severine is good at identifying her strengths and weaknesses. Her passion for teaching and her student's success is unmatched, as we had engaged many tutors on many platforms for different subjects at all levels of K-12 for our kids. She is also systematic in her approach, structure's the lesson's well according to what works best for my daughter, supported by lots of exercises. She is very patient and professional, makes learning fun using creative ways. She explains everything in easy-to-understand manner, always very well prepared for the class and keeps my daughter engaged for the whole hour. We like her flexibility in adjusting teaching methodology to suit my daughter’s needs. She is very easy to work with in terms of scheduling, and she goes above and beyond in communicating with parents, shares resources, etc. We are very happy with the progress my daughter is making and would highly recommend Ms. Severine for any Biology classes to US Middle and High school kids.

What stands out most is how supportive and accommodating she is—always trying her best to adjust to our schedule, even on short notice. She has strong subject matter expertise in physics, biology, chemistry, Sciences Vie et Terre (SVT), effective communication skills regardless in French or English, patience, adaptability, and a genuine desire to help student succeed. Severine explains concepts, build rapport with student, and create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Severine prepared a lesson with plenty of resources so that I could benefit the most. She gives homework with an emphasis on immersion, which is something I value a lot. She also had a quick fix for when I had technical issues on my end with the camera.
