I am a Mississippi native. I received my bachelor degree in elementary education in 2006. I have received both my masters and specialist degrees in educational leadership with an emphasis on curriculum and instruction.
I currently serve teachers and students in the role of literacy specialist. I am entering my 5th year in this position. I have the amazing opportunity to work with the most at risk students in the areas of phonics and reading to improve their growth.

I am an outstanding English instructor because I received a degree in English as a sub concentration along with my bachelor’s degree. I am very fluent in English and understand and can teach the grammar easily.

I taught first grade for 7 years. Writing and spelling were huge components of the first grade curriculum. They both were big portions of my daily lessons.

As a former teacher and current literacy specialist, I have trained and understand the rules of the 5 components of literacy, of which phonics is a huge part. I constantly read and attend training to improve my technique of teaching phonics. My students have experienced great success following phonics instruction under my care.
