Acting

Acting

I have a strong appreciation for the craft of acting and an understanding of theatrical performance developed through hands-on experience. In high school, I performed in several plays, gaining foundational knowledge of stage presence and character development. As a playwright, I have won awards for my original works, giving me a unique perspective on performance from a writer’s point of view. This blend of acting and playwriting experience allows me to approach the art of theater with creativity, insight, and authenticity.
Bible Studies

Bible Studies

Alongside my BFA, I earned the equivalent of a minor in Biblical Studies, which gave me a strong background in scripture, theology, and interpretation. I’ve studied both the Old and New Testaments, biblical history, and how to understand the Bible in context. I enjoy making these subjects clear, approachable, and meaningful for learners of all backgrounds.
Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I hold both a BFA and MFA in Creative Writing, with extensive training in poetry, playwriting, and prose. My work has been published, and I have received awards for my plays, reflecting both creative achievement and professional recognition. I enjoy helping writers at all levels strengthen their skills, explore new genres, and develop their unique voice. With a balance of craft expertise and practical experience, I guide students in creating writing that is both polished and impactful.
Debate

Debate

While I do not have formal training in teaching debate, I have effectively incorporated debate into my high school English classes to strengthen students’ communication and critical thinking skills. I design and lead structured debates that teach students how to research, build evidence-based arguments, and engage in respectful discourse. In addition, I have won awards for public speaking, which allows me to model and teach persuasive delivery and confident presentation. This combination of classroom practice and personal achievement gives me a well-rounded perspective on debate and public speaking instruction.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I hold both a BFA and an MFA in Creative Writing, with my graduate work focused on fiction. My MFA thesis combined rigorous research with a 100-page original fiction manuscript, demonstrating my ability to craft and sustain complex narratives. Through years of advanced coursework, workshops, and publication experience, I have developed expertise in fiction writing, narrative structure, and character development. This background equips me to mentor and guide others in honing their creative writing skills at both introductory and advanced levels.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

I have extensive experience in public speaking, having placed in several competitive events during high school and earning numerous awards for my speeches. While I have not taken college-level public speaking courses, my background in creative writing and teaching has strengthened my ability to craft and deliver engaging presentations. I hold two degrees in creative writing and a teaching degree with a license in high school English, which has allowed me to develop strong communication and presentation skills. My combined academic and practical experience enables me to guide others in developing confidence and effectiveness as public speakers.
