Hi! I’m an electrical engineer with nearly eight years of professional experience in the power industry, and math has always been one of my favorite subjects. I’ve often said that if I weren’t an engineer, I would teach math. While earning my engineering degree, I worked as a Supplemental Instruction leader for Calculus II. I attended the class alongside the students, developed lesson plans based on what they were learning, and led study sessions where I taught concepts, worked through problems, and helped students with their coursework.
My approach to tutoring is focused on helping you understand why the math works rather than simply memorizing formulas and steps. If a concept isn’t clicking, I’ll work with you to find a different way of looking at it and identify any gaps that might be making the new material difficult to understand. My engineering background also allows me to connect mathematical concepts to practical applications when it helps make an idea more intuitive.
I genuinely enjoy sharing my knowledge with others, and my favorite part of teaching is seeing the moment when a concept finally clicks for a student. Watching someone become more confident as their understanding grows is incredibly rewarding to me. Whether you need help with algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, or calculus, my goal is to help you understand the material and become more confident solving problems on your own.
