I have a strong educational background in human health and biology, including a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I’m also a Licensed Massage Therapist with multiple bodywork certifications. My education and professional experience have provided me with an in-depth understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and human biology, which I enjoy making understandable and engaging for students.
I bring over 20 years of experience in education and service, with teaching experience spanning kindergarten through adult learners. I’m currently an adjunct professor at a community college teaching biology and human biology labs. From 2023 to 2025, I taught anatomy, physiology, pathology, and allied modalities at a massage therapy school, helping adult students understand challenging material and prepare for professional licensing exams. From 2013 to 2017, I taught multiple subjects to students in grades K–12. My experience includes classroom instruction, curriculum development, lesson planning, and creating assessments and learning materials. I use these skills to identify areas where students need individualized support to help them succeed.
My tutoring approach is tailored to each student's needs. I understand that anatomy and physiology can feel overwhelming, especially when there is a great deal of information to learn. I break complex topics into manageable steps, use clear explanations and practical examples, and encourage students to ask questions without feeling embarrassed. Rather than focusing only on memorization, I focus on helping students understand the why behind what they are learning so they can apply what they learn to exams and future coursework. My goal is to help every student build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and feel more capable of succeeding in their science classes.
