Hello, I'm Joe! I hold a PhD degree in applied mathematics from the University of Alabama. For six years, I taught a multitude of high school and college-level courses, including Algebra 1 & 2, Trigonometry, Discrete Math, Calculus, and Ordinary Differential Equations. Moreover, I've tutored one-on-one in the aforementioned subjects and other courses such as Statistics, Linear Algebra, Geometry, and Multivariable Calculus (II and III).

During my summers, I worked as a camp counselor for gifted high school students in Michigan (OUSMI). I helped teach these students, led small-group sessions, and created challenging problems to test their problem-solving capabilities in Number Theory, Combinatorics, Geometry, and advanced Algebra.
While at Alabama, I also volunteered in various academic settings to support students in their mathematical journeys. I worked at the Capstone Center for Student Success, assisting engineering and business students with their math questions. I also coached competitive high-school math teams, created problems for competitions, and graded.
Currently, my work involves creating original problems to stump AI models. This has further advanced my ability to explain ideas clearly and to identify tricky nuances, fully developing a student’s understanding of complex topics.
In summary, I have experience as a teacher, tutor, coach, and counselor in mathematics. I am committed to helping students build confidence and develop strong problem-solving skills.
