About Paula

Bio

I charge less for two or more hours in a row. I also charge less if we meet very close to my house. I am fluent in English and Spanish, with decades of experience teaching and tutoring kids and adults. I homeschooled our three kids. My students have told me that I am a good teacher and tutor. I love Jesus Christ, my Savior!!! Tutoring and writing songs are my favorite jobs. I especially like to help kids with reading, writing, and math, since these are such basic skills. I make review sheets...

I know very much about nutrition and have been cooking for 40 years for my birth family and my own family. I know ways to make preparation time reduced by preparing some ingredients beforehand to store in the freezer. Also, I frequently use a crock pot, an electric rice cooker, and a bread machine. I am also a skilled baker. Hand-grated carrot cake is my specialty.

Very patient and caring tutor

This was our first session, and my daughter wasn't too happy about it, but Paula was very patient and undeterred. She worked through the lesson and made sure that when it ended my daughter had learned something new.

We had a few technical difficulties where she couldn't see our student but she plugged along and used the whiteboard on zoom to write out and illustrate the lesson. Our student is special needs and had trouble paying attention so upon learning this she adjusted her approach. She was a good listener and very eager to adjust her teaching to whatever level the student needed. I really liked that she had an English program she could refence on zoom that actually had characters and voices speaking.

The vocabulary was so foreign to me (pardon the pun) that Paula had to supply too much of the vocabulary meaning. Not the best material selection today. Still, she is a good tutor. I am learning as I wanted.
