I have had the opportunity to work with diverse individuals from a multitude of backgrounds both overseas and within the United States. While working as an English Instructor in Colombia, I taught university students speaking, writing, listening, and reading courses. In South Korea, I taught elementary school students about U.S. culture as well as conversational English. While I was an undergraduate student, I had the opportunity of volunteering as a cultural speaker and conversation partner.
During my teaching experience in Colombia, I learned how to become flexible, adapt to a new situation in a short amount of time, and became fluent in Spanish. While teaching in Korea, I learned the importance of patience, how to communicate ideas to individuals who did not share my first language, and how to assimilate to a culture that was far different from my own. While I was a conversation partner, I learned about the challenges, joys and fears international students face while living in the United States.
Let me help you! :)
