I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Philosophy at Missouri State University, where my coursework emphasizes logic, critical thinking, and effective communication. My academic training has strengthened my ability to analyze complex material, structure arguments clearly, and explain difficult concepts in simple and approachable ways. These skills allow me to guide students not only in philosophy but also in writing, reading comprehension, and study skills that are valuable across all subjects.

Although I am new to professional tutoring, I bring years of experience in communication and mentorship from my work in customer service and leadership roles. At Olive Garden, I trained new team members and learned how to adjust explanations based on different learning styles—an ability that translates directly into tutoring. I have also helped peers at the university level with writing assignments and philosophy coursework, which gave me a sense of how students struggle with structuring arguments, managing time, and building confidence in their work.

My approach to tutoring is patient, supportive, and goal-oriented. I believe that learning happens best when students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and working through challenges with guidance. I emphasize practical strategies—such as outlining essays, breaking down large assignments into smaller steps, and practicing active reading—that help students build long-term skills rather than short-term fixes. Whether working with high school students who need help with reading and essay writing or college students who want to strengthen their critical thinking, my goal is to give students tools they can continue to use long after our sessions.

United States History

I completed AP U.S. History in high school with strong results and have continued to study American history independently. My philosophy degree program emphasizes critical reading and analytical writing, which strengthens my ability to help students not only learn history but also interpret events and structure thoughtful essays. I am especially skilled at helping students break down complex material into clear themes and develop strong writing strategies for DBQs, LEQs, and essays. My goal is to make U.S. history engaging and approachable while building lasting academic confidence.
