About Samuel

Bio

I'm an electrical engineering graduate from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Math and physics were the backbone of my coursework there, from circuit analysis to calculus. I've always found that the students who struggle most with these subjects aren't missing intelligence, they're missing a clear mental model of what's actually happening and why. That's what I'm most excited to help you build!

I like connecting abstract concepts to real, tangible examples so the math stops feeling like arbitrary rules and starts making sense as a way to describe the world. Whether it's algebra, calculus, or physics, I focus on building a student’s genuine understanding and fostering their natural curiosity. I can help students at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels.

While at West Point, I served as a peer tutor for the Center for Enhanced Performance (CEP), West Point's academic support program. I graduated with a 3.73 cumulative GPA and was placed on the Dean's List in all of my academic terms. My coursework included calculus-based physics, differential equations, probability and statistics, and advanced electromagnetics, giving me a strong technical foundation across the math and science subjects I tutor.

I know firsthand how demanding a rigorous, high-pressure academic environment can be, having gone through it myself at a service academy. I bring patience, structure, and a calm, encouraging approach to every session, and I want each student to leave not just with a homework problem solved, but with genuine interest and a better understanding of how their subject connects to the real world.

Approved Subjects

ASVAB

ASVAB

I scored in the 99th percentile on the ASVAB before enlisting as an Army Linguist, and later earned my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from West Point. Having gone through the enlistment process myself, I also help students understand how their line scores (like GT and ST) determine which jobs they qualify for, so we focus study time where it will open the most doors. Whether you need to clear the minimum AFQT or raise a score for a specific job, I’ll build a plan around your target.
Electrical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

I earned my B.S. in Electrical Engineering from West Point with a 3.73 GPA, completing coursework in circuit analysis, signals and systems, digital logic, electromagnetics, and solid state electronics. In school I often helped out my fellow classmates, helping them build problem-solving methods to tackle engineering problems, rather than just memorize formulas. I help students work through homework and exam prep in intro circuits (KVL/KCL, Thevenin/Norton equivalents, AC phasor analysis, op-amps), Boolean logic and digital design, and signals topics like Fourier and Laplace transforms. I focus on teaching students how to set up a problem systematically so they can handle unfamiliar questions on exams.
