About David

I have taught at local colleges in the St. Louis area for more than 25 years, primarily business statistics. But, I have also taught college algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. I love probability and enjoy making it fun for students. I enjoy developing creating examples that fit the student's area of interest.

I received my Ph.D. in applied mathematics at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2006. I have worked in industry for more than 30 years as a statistician. I love living in St. Louis. I want to teach more when I retire from full-time work in a few years. I can tutor both in-person at a public location or online.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Differential Equations

I have a Ph.D in Math and have taught for more than 25 years on a part-time basis at a few colleges in the St.Louis area. I am also a professional statistician. I have taught differential equations.

Discrete Math

I have a Ph.d in Applied Mathematics and have taught for more than twenty years (part-time) at the college level. I have experience teaching probability, statistics, finite math, and calculus. I have been involved in teaching primarily lower-level mathematics courses and consequently, have experience working with students that struggle with this type of material.

Finite Math

I have a Ph.d in Applied Mathematics, with an emphasis in probability theory. I have taught as an adjunct instructor at a university for more than 20 years. I have taught courses in college algebra, calculus, finite math, and statistics. I have been tutoring for WyzAnt actively for approximately 3 months and really enjoy it.

Linear Algebra

I have a Ph.d in Applied Mathematics and most of my course work involves the use of linear algebra. This has often been in the field of statistics.

SAS

I have been a professional statistician for more than 25 years. The primary statistical software that I use is SAS. I use it for a variety of statistical procedures and to perform applied analysis.

Help me with the statistics in my dissertation. Was listened, discussed and then used use the test in SPSS that I needed rather than forcing something he always uses. My test was based on my committee's comments. He could have argued
