About me? Well I have a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Drake University with an emphasis in Broadcast News as well as a master's from the Missouri School of Journalism with an emphasis in strategic communication.

Experience? I spent 13 years working in TV news across the Midwest as well as a 5-year stint working at a major TV network. During this time, I wrote all day everyday to ensure the stories I was sending out made sense and was easily understood by a variety of audiences.
After working in TV news, I decided to take my communication skills in a different direction. For 5 and a half years, I did public relations and community relations for a school district. During this time, I wrote on a variety of platforms including for print, social media and TV scripts. I also honed my public speaking and presenting skills.
From there, I was ready for a new challenge so I left education to work for a global leader in thermal solutions in the St.Louis area. There I did internal communications work where I spent most of my days writing for internal audiences, as well as social media. I've recently been recruited to a national grocery chain where I do media, public relations and community engagement.

Why should I tutor you? Well with close to 20 years experience in a variety of industries, I've discovered that I love to be a cheerleader of people. Whether it's colleagues or my kids, I love meeting people where they are with their skills and working to get them to the next level. It's fulfilling for me to continue to encourage people to see all that they are capable of now and into the future.
