When I was in the fourth grade I was one of the four players chosen out of a dozen to compete in the my first tournament but we didn't have enough funds to go. Eventually the school had to cancel the chess club because of budget cuts. I never went to another club. I continued to play at home and online and my skills continued to grow.
I was the best chess player at my chess club in '09
I play chess every day and the only person who has beaten me was my Step-father.
I have taught two people how to play before I became a tutor on wyzant.
