During my Ph.D. program in the department of chemistry, Michigan State University, I was assigned as a teaching assistant in every semester. It is a rare opportunity that a graduate student would get to teach every semester. This experience held me up on my teaching career. The sections of classes were close 25 students and I typically teach about 3 sections, each section twice a week. My teaching supervisor was Dr. Ardeshir Azadnia as the major focus was in chemistry Laboratory classes while teaching basic chemistry courses. I have taught 100 level, 200 level and 300 level classes. I taught, advanced organic chemistry and biochemistry to undergraduates. Also, I have taught, survey of organic chemistry to non-chemistry majors, advanced organic chemistry laboratories for chemistry majors Most of the students are pre-med and in pharmaceutical and Nursing school. I was able to teach multi disciplined, multi cultured and students with different knowledge level. This challenge was accepted and resolved successfully with a wonderful outcome. The reviews on my teachings were exceptional. Students had a wonderful relationship with me as they frequently mentioned that they could understand the subject better. After my BS degree, I was offered a lecturer position in the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, where I was teaching biochemistry and chemistry courses for 1 year. This experience gave me the foundation for my teaching career. All these years I have being a successful teacher and popular among student as an outstanding teacher.
I believe, answering the four questions what, why, who, and how completely, makes a perfect teacher. However, experience in teaching is a bonus, which makes it easy and fast to answer the four questions. As a teacher my career goes back to year 2007 where I was a teaching assistant at University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka. All these years I have being a successful teacher and popular among student as an outstanding teacher. I gained the current status in teaching by following above steps. Th
