Hi! My name is Tory and I have a MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from Webster University as well as a BA in Romance Languages and Literature (French and Italian) from the University of Chicago. My educational background has given me a solid foundation in pedagogical strategies, lesson planning, writing, and literary analysis. (I am also a grammar nerd.) I have over seven years of experience in education, including teaching an ESOL class for adult learners and developing reading skills in a professional 1:1 environment with children of all ages. Due in part to my wide range of interests, I am able to translate my skills to many different disciplines.
In conclusion, I credit an early love of reading with much of my academic success as well as personal growth, and I am excited to use my passion to help students succeed. I believe in creating an environment in which students feel that their ideas matter in order to help them find their voice through writing and/or developing their English skills.
