With more than 15 years of experience in education, I began my career in Early Childhood Special Education and then moved back to St. Louis and City Academy in 2012, where I have served in a variety of roles, including K/1st Grade Montessori Math Teacher, Director of Extended Day and Summer School, and, beginning in 2019, 1st Grade STEAM Teacher.
I earned my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Practice, with a focus on Creativity and Generative Design, in 2019. My doctoral research explored the role of play in early childhood and its impact on children’s overall learning, including both academic and social development.
I believe children learn best when they are actively engaged, curious, and having fun. My approach combines play, hands-on experiences, and experiential learning to make academic concepts meaningful and memorable. I’m also not above being a little creative—or even “tricking” kids into learning—when it helps them discover that learning can be fun!
Outside the classroom, I enjoy relaxed days with my family, supporting local restaurants whenever possible, and playing pickleball. I’m also a parent of two children and a proud pet owner with a dog, a cat, and plenty of fish both inside and outside our home.
I’d love for your child to join me for sessions filled with fun, creativity, curiosity, and exciting growth! Together, we’ll turn learning into an adventure where every challenge is an opportunity to discover something new.
