Hi! I’m Maddie – a STEM tutor who loves helping students feel capable, confident, and even excited about subjects that once felt overwhelming. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Oklahoma Honors College with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in French, and I’ve spent years tutoring calculus, physics, ACT prep, and foundational math.
At OU’s Engineering Learning Center, I worked one-on-one and in small groups, helping students break down tough concepts and find the learning style that fits them best. I was named Tutor of the Month just two months into the job, which meant a lot because it reflected how supported and encouraged my students felt. My sessions are warm, patient, and full of different ways to approach a problem until it finally clicks. I focus on making learning approachable through kindness, personal attention, and clear, step-by-step breakdowns that build confidence and momentum.
For ACT prep, I bring both strong scores (34 composite: 33 Math, 31 Science, 35 English & Reading) and a teaching style centered on strategy and clarity. I help students strengthen content mastery while also learning how to manage time, recognize patterns, and approach questions with calm confidence.
I also tutor French for students seeking support in grammar, reading, writing, or conversation. I’ve studied French for 11 years, earned a 7 on the IB French exam, wrote my IB extended essay in French, and even completed my Honors thesis in French, so whether you’re learning the basics or diving deeper, I can help you grow your skills with clarity and encouragement.
If you’re looking for a tutor who is kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed, I’d love to work with you.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I have extensive experience helping students strengthen their ACT English skills through clear instruction, targeted practice, and effective test‑taking strategies. With a 35 in ACT English/Reading and years of tutoring experience, I focus on grammar, punctuation, rhetorical skills, and pattern recognition to help students improve quickly and confidently. My teaching style is patient, structured, and adaptable to each student’s needs, ensuring they understand both the rules and the reasoning behind them. I also emphasize timing strategies and question‑type familiarity to build calm, consistent performance on test day.
ACT Math

ACT Math

I earned a 34 composite on the ACT, including a 33 in Math, and I’ve helped students improve their scores by teaching both content mastery and test‑taking strategy. My background in engineering gives me a strong command of the algebra, geometry, and trigonometry concepts that appear on the exam. I help students learn efficient problem‑solving techniques, manage time effectively, and avoid common pitfalls. My goal is to make ACT Math feel predictable, manageable, and even enjoyable.
Calculus

Calculus

I have a strong foundation in calculus through my Aerospace Engineering degree, where I applied differential and integral calculus extensively in physics, propulsion, and orbital mechanics coursework. As a former Engineering Learning Center tutor and Tutor of the Month, I’ve helped many students build confidence by breaking complex problems into clear, manageable steps. I’m experienced in guiding learners through limits, derivatives, integrals, and applications with patience and clarity. My approach emphasizes conceptual understanding so students can tackle challenging problems independently.
French

French

I’ve studied French for over eleven years and earned a 7 on the IB French exams, the highest possible score. I wrote both my IB Extended Essay and my Honors thesis in French, and I minored in the language during my Aerospace Engineering degree. I tutor grammar, reading, writing, and conversation with an emphasis on clarity, confidence, and real‑world usage. Whether a student is just beginning or preparing for advanced coursework, I help them build strong linguistic foundations and enjoy the learning process.
Physics

Physics

I hold a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, a field rooted deeply in classical mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics, giving me a strong command of physics fundamentals. During my time as an engineering tutor at my university, I worked with students across multiple physics courses and helped them develop problem‑solving strategies that made the subject feel intuitive rather than intimidating. I specialize in making abstract concepts concrete through diagrams, real‑world examples, and step‑by‑step reasoning. Students consistently left sessions feeling more confident and capable.
Precalculus

Precalculus

I’ve taught precalculus concepts to students ranging from high school through college, helping them build the algebraic and trigonometric foundations needed for success in higher‑level math. My tutoring experience includes simplifying functions, trigonometry, analytic geometry, and introductory limits in ways that feel approachable and logical. I focus on strengthening core skills and identifying gaps so students can progress smoothly into calculus. My teaching style is patient, structured, and tailored to each student’s learning needs.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I scored a 780 on the SAT Math section, placing me in the top percentile of test‑takers, and I’ve helped students significantly raise their scores by strengthening both content mastery and strategy. My Aerospace Engineering background gives me a strong command of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data analysis — the core skills needed for top performance on the exam. I focus on teaching efficient problem‑solving techniques, pattern recognition, and time‑management strategies that help students aiming for a perfect score feel confident and in control. I’m also familiar with the latest SAT changes, including the digital format, adaptive modules, and the built‑in Desmos calculator students use throughout the math section. My goal is to make SAT Math clear, predictable, and approachable so students can perform at their highest level on test day.
