I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Missouri–Columbia and went on to complete my Master’s in Curriculum, Learning, and Instruction. My educational background has provided me with a strong foundation in child development, effective teaching strategies, and designing lessons that meet students where they are and help them grow with confidence.
I have been teaching for 12 years and am currently still in the classroom. During my career, I have primarily taught 2nd and 3rd grade students in a classroom setting. I focus on creating a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and building skills. My teaching approach emphasizes breaking down concepts into manageable steps, using hands-on and interactive strategies, and providing consistent encouragement to help students succeed.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have worked closely with students in small group and one-on-one settings to support reading and math development. I have extensive experience helping elementary-aged students strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and develop a love of learning. As a parent, I also understand the importance of patience, flexibility, and meeting each child’s individual needs, which I bring into every teaching interaction.
