Hello! I am a current 4th grade teacher with experience across elementary grade levels, specializing in helping students strengthen reading, writing, and overall academic confidence. I also have extensive experience working with English language learners and tailoring instruction to meet diverse needs.
In my classroom, I focus on helping students clearly explain their thinking, use evidence from texts, and develop strong discussion and writing skills. I support students in reading both fiction and nonfiction, improving writing, building vocabulary, completing homework across subjects, and preparing for state assessments. My approach emphasizes strategies that are accessible and effective for a wide range of learners.
In addition to literacy, I bring experience in math, science, and social studies, allowing me to support well-rounded academic growth. I hold a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Missouri–St. Louis and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and International Relations from Knox College. I am certified to teach Elementary Education (K–6) in both Missouri and Illinois.
My teaching approach is structured, supportive, and focused on building confidence and independence in every student.
