My name is Keegan Cody, and I'm an incoming computer science student at Georgia Tech with a 4.0 GPA at Ladue Horton Watkins. I tutor all levels of mathematics and computer science as well as physics. My academic background includes advanced coursework in mathematics and computer science taking all honors math courses as well as AP Calculus BC, Calculus III, and AP Computer Science A. I have taken 11 Advanced Placement classes and received 5s on all of them and As in the classes. On top of this I scored a 36 on the ACT notably with a 36 on math.
My most substantial teaching experience came through a summer coding education program I created and ran for a group of 25 middle school students. I designed the curriculum from scratch, covering foundational programming concepts through a mix of structured lessons, hands-on coding projects, and group problem solving sessions. What started as a summer program has continued with monthly follow-up lessons to keep building on what the students learned, which I think says something about how the students and their families responded to the approach. Working with that age group taught me how to break down technical concepts clearly and keep students engaged even when the material gets challenging.
On the tutoring side, I work with students in algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, AP Computer Science, intro Python, and SAT/ACT math. I tend to focus on building genuine understanding rather than just drilling shortcuts, because in my experience students who actually grasp the underlying concept perform more consistently when it counts. I'm flexible with scheduling and happy to work around a student's existing commitments.
