Give your child the tools to succeed in reading! As a K–12 certified reading specialist with over 26 years of experience as both a classroom teacher and literacy interventionist, I provide targeted, engaging instruction that builds confidence and strengthens essential literacy skills. I tailor each session to your child’s unique needs using evidence-based strategies grounded in the science of reading. My background includes extensive training in structured literacy, and I am Orton-Gillingham certified and Wilson Reading System trained. I hold teaching certifications in 9–12 English and K–12 Special Reading, along with a Master’s degree in Reading focused on literacy, language development, and differentiated instruction. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree, which continues to deepen my understanding of how students learn, process, and engage with complex texts.
Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of students, from beginning readers developing foundational skills to high school students in advanced courses, in both classroom and intervention settings. I regularly provide small group and one-on-one instruction, supporting students with decoding, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, spelling, and comprehension. My experience includes working with diverse learners, including students who need targeted intervention as well as those looking to strengthen higher-level comprehension and analytical skills.
My approach to tutoring is personalized, multi-sensory, and strategy-driven, with a strong emphasis on building students’ confidence and independence. I help students develop practical tools, so they can become more successful readers across all subject areas. My goal is to support each student in growing into a confident, capable reader and thinker.
