Hello! My name is Samik, and I am a third-year medical student with a strong academic background in physiology, physics, biology, biochemistry, and chemistry at both the university and advanced placement levels. I earned my undergraduate degree in biology in 2023 with an additional concentration in biochemistry, maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout my coursework. I also scored in the 99th percentile on the MCAT, reflecting a strong command of foundational science concepts and problem-based reasoning. I currently tutor MCAT preparation, as well as physics, physiology, biochemistry, biology, and general chemistry at the high school and college levels.
I have extensive teaching experience, particularly in physics and physiology. I spent three years as a college-level physics teaching assistant, working with both algebra- and calculus-based courses, and one year as a teaching assistant for college-level physiology and biology. In these roles, I led small-group problem-solving sessions and held weekly individual office hours, supporting students with a wide range of academic backgrounds. I have worked with both high school and college students in one-on-one and small-group settings.
My tutoring style is structured, patient, and concept-driven, with a strong emphasis on problem-solving. Sessions typically involve identifying where a student’s understanding breaks down and rebuilding concepts step by step using clear explanations, visual reasoning, and guided practice questions. Students can expect targeted homework assignments when appropriate to reinforce understanding and promote independent thinking. Whether preparing for an upcoming exam, struggling with fundamentals, or aiming to build long-term confidence in science courses, my goal is for students to leave each session with tools they can use independently.
