Hi, I’m Alina!

I graduated from UT Dallas with a 4.0 GPA and a B.S. in Neuroscience on the pre-med track. In high school, I graduated with the International Baccalaureate Diploma and as salutatorian (rank 2/545) of my class. I was also recognized as a National AP Scholar and a National Merit Scholar, scoring in the 99th percentile on both the PSAT and SAT (1490/1520 PSAT & 1570/1600 SAT).

I have been tutoring various subjects for 6+ years and have accumulated 1,300+ hours of tutoring and teaching assistant experience. I’ve worked with a diverse population of learners—from kindergarteners to undergraduates and adult students—and I enjoy adapting my approach to meet each student’s needs.

I specialize in SAT prep, math (from elementary school through calculus), chemistry, and reading comprehension tutoring. Having prepared for and excelled on standardized exams ranging from AP tests to the SAT and MCAT, I understand what it takes to perform well under pressure. I provide students with clear, practical strategies for mastering each subject, emphasizing true understanding over memorization. I’m a strong believer in learning by doing, which means our sessions will include plenty of practice questions, guided problem-solving, and active engagement. Whether we’re reviewing foundational concepts or working through timed practice, my goal is to help make topics and concepts truly “click” so students can approach every question with confidence and flexibility. I love sharing insights that help learners find joy, curiosity, and even beauty in subjects they once found intimidating.

Above all, I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance and encouragement. My sessions are interactive, supportive, and designed to make students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. I enjoy helping learners reach those “aha!” moments, and I’m committed to helping each student reach their full potential—whether that means achieving a higher SAT score or simply feeling more confident in class.

I recently graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience. I graduated with Summa Cum Laude (4.0 GPA) and Major Honors, which involved submitting a 15-page thesis on the neuroscience research I conducted. I have conducted 1000+ hours of neuroscience research at the University of Texas at Dallas Biomedical Devices Center and Washington University School of Medicine Neuromuscular Section. I was also previously a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Cellular Neuroscience and Neuropharmacology as well as a Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leader for Introduction to Neuroscience.

Highly recommend her as a Chem tutor

Alina was an amazing tutor. She came well prepared and was able to answer questions right away. She gave great advice for remembering concepts, including helpful acronyms, and even provided follow-up practice questions for my exam. She’s incredibly patient, well-mannered, and thorough with every explanation. I highly recommend her for Chemistry tutoring, even though her profile also focuses on SAT prep.

Flexible and patient.

Alina was willing to be very flexible for last-minute scheduling and helping toward the end of the semester testing. She identified and corrected how my daughter was rushing into her Geometry problems instead of taking the time to identify exactly what the problem was and then approaching it to solve. She took the time to unpack and review each of the fundamentals. My daughter would want her help again as she progresses through her remaining math courses in high school.
