I am a current student at Tennessee State University majoring in Public Health and a rising junior with a strong passion for education and youth development. My academic journey has deepened my appreciation for clear communication and literacy skills that I love helping younger students strengthen. I have hands-on experience working with elementary-aged students, specifically grades 3 through 5, through my work with CDF Freedom Schools. In this role, I supported students in building confidence and skills in reading, spelling, and comprehension. I also volunteered to tutor fourth-grade students in math, where I learned to adapt my approach to meet the different learning needs of each child. These experiences taught me the value of patience, encouragement, and building a strong rapport with students to help them succeed. My main focus is helping students in English, reading, and spelling. I use engaging, student-friendly methods to make learning fun and meaningful whether that’s through phonics support, vocabulary development, or reading comprehension strategies. I believe every student has the potential to thrive with the right guidance, and I’m excited to support their academic growth one step at a time.
