About Ryan

Bio

Hello! My name is Ryan and I am a student studying computer science at the University of Missouri-Columbia. In the past, I have tutored Algebra 2 formally as well as "tutored" my friends in math subjects such as Calculus I. All of this tutoring has been one on one tutoring and aimed toward the individual. I find joy in working with people and helping them realize that they are smarter than they really think! Tutoring such a fulfilling position and I am grateful for every opportunity I get to...

Tutoring such a fulfilling position and I am grateful for every opportunity I get to partake in it.

In recent years, I have obtained a 36 on the ACT and have become a National Merit Scholarship Finalist for my score on the PSAT. Both of these scores came from working hard on studying. Overall, I learned from these two tests that anyone can greatly improve their score on standardized test if they put in the effort and seek out the right resources.

If you have any other questions, please reach out! I am not a perfect tutor, but I am always willing to meet the student where they are at and try my best!

ACT English

ACT English

I've scored a 36 on the ACT and have gotten a 36 on the English section twice. I've also taken a ACT prep course which helped give me tips and tricks into how to do well on this portion of the ACT. Overall, I feel the English section of the ACT is my strongest section!
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have tutored Algebra 2 in the past and also have obtained an A in all math class in high school and in college (through Calc 3).
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I tutored Algebra 2 back in my high school and feel comfortable breaking down the content in a way that makes it more digestible to the student. In particular, I am good at explaining factoring concepts and combining like terms.
C

C

I have taken both CS 1050 and CS 2050 at Mizzou (taught entirely in C) and have obtained an A in both courses. I know sorting algorithms, linked lists, and basic algorithm implementation. I also am good at pointers and simple memory management in C.
HTML

HTML

I have created many personal projects using HTML along with CSS and JavaScript. These websites have been simple fun projects where I have gained a firm grasp of the basics of HTML and CSS. I have even run a small club at my college centered around front end development!
