Hello. My name is Laura and I have been working for specialized services teaching English as A Second Language for going on two years. I love having the opportunity to watch a child's knowledge grow and give them the ability to see their true potential. I do possess a substitutes certificate of teaching in the state of Missouri and I am pursuing an education degree. I originally majored in Chemistry in college and found a natural love of science but am now pursuing a different path as I have found a love for encouraging and helping students succeed. I am a mother of two one of which has been diagnosed with Autism and ADHD since age 3.
I have tutored in math from grades Pre-K to 6th grade and enjoy the opportunity to show students how fun and useful math can be.
I originally majored in Chemistry and college and have a natural love of science, I always encourage my students and my children to take an interest in science to better understand how the world we live in works.
I have taught students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD, I am also a parent of a child with Autism and ADHD I have spent many years helping to tutor my own child with his special needs accommodations.
My favorite quote in educating would have to be Sometimes real superheroes live in the hearts of small children fighting big battles” and I live by this. All children have so much potential it is up to us as educators to help them unlock it.
