Hi!

In addition to private tutoring, I have been tutoring/teaching at a university level for the past 9 years or so years. Teaching has always been a passion for me, to the extent that for several years I wanted to grow up an become a high school math teacher.

Once I started attending college, I came to realize that my real passion was in physics, and so my dream has changed and I want to become a professor; essentially still a teacher but at a different level.

I absolutely love seeing a student I teach understand the ideas and concept we work on, but it's even better once they don't need my help anymore. That's ultimately my goal for students.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I took my first Algebra class many years ago and have used the concepts constantly. I am currently a physics major at BYU so algebra is essentially second nature to me by now.
Calculus

Calculus

I have always loved and tutored other students in math. I took the Calc AP test back in high school and got a 5, and since then I've been going to BYU studying physics, which uses a lot of principles of calculus. I have also been a tutor for the past several years at BYU, the school I attend.
Geometry

Geometry

I took my first Geometry class many years ago and have used the concepts constantly. I am currently a physics major at BYU and as a physics major, we need to know about all sorts of shapes, angles, and how to relate them.
Physics

Physics

After graduating with a bachelors in physics, I furthered my education with a PhD in physics too! Over those 9+ years, I was simultaneously working as a tutor on the side, or as a teaching assistant. Currently, I am an assistant Professor of Physics, teaching general physics college courses. So all in all, I've been doing this for some time, and am quite confident in my ability to help students succeed.
Spanish

Spanish

I took 4 years of Spanish in High school and even passed the AP test! After that I went to Mexico for two years on an LDS mission and so I am now fluent in Spanish, and I have studied the grammar quite a bit, so I am confident in my ability to teach it, or at least clarify things.

Knowledgable and articulate

Joe has been tutoring me for several weeks. He has been very articulate in his explanations and made difficult topics easy to understand. I scored a 96% on my final exam thanks to him.
