My passion for admissions and student success comes from more than a decade of working directly with students as they navigate some of the most important educational decisions of their lives. Over the past four years, I have served as an admissions reader for both UC Irvine and Cornell University, reviewing applications for first-year, transfer, and graduate student populations. Through this work, I have evaluated thousands of applications and developed a deep appreciation for holistic review, carefully considering each applicant’s academic achievements, personal experiences, extracurricular involvement, essays, and overall potential. I enjoy identifying the unique strengths and stories that make each candidate stand out beyond the numbers.
In addition to application review, I have spent the last three years working as a college consultant, helping students transform their goals into successful admissions outcomes. I have guided students through college list development, activities planning, personal statements, and supplemental essays, often working closely with them over extended periods as they refine their applications. This experience has given me valuable perspective on both sides of the admissions process, allowing me to understand not only how applications are evaluated but also the challenges students face when presenting themselves authentically and effectively.
What motivates me most is helping students find opportunities that align with their aspirations and potential. Throughout my career in enrollment services, financial aid, academic advising, and student success, I have remained committed to a student-centered approach that balances empathy with thoughtful evaluation. Whether reviewing an application or advising a student directly, I believe in looking beyond metrics to understand the whole person and the context of their journey. I bring that same care, attention to detail, and commitment to fairness to every application I review.
