I help students turn confusing math into a clear, repeatable problem-solving process. I’m an aerospace engineering graduate student at Missouri S&T with a summa cum laude B.S., a strong background in math, physics, and engineering, and experience applying those skills in high-pressure technical environments. In the last four years, I have traveled to Utah to compete internationally with a Mars rover team, served as Chief Engineer for a student satellite mission, delivered a TEDx talk, completed an aerospace industry internship, earned a Nuclear Reactor Operator License and Amateur Radio License, and keynoted the Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial Dinner for members of the space community. Through roles like freshman orientation and guidance mentoring, three years in Residential Life, and leading technical teams, teaching and mentorship have become both strengths of mine and a way I keep my own fundamentals sharp.
My tutoring style is patient, structured, and focused on real understanding. I like to start by finding where the student’s reasoning breaks down, then rebuild the idea from first principles using intuition, analogies, humor, and step-by-step examples. I use the same mindset I use in engineering, research, and science: ask what we know, test a method, check the result, and improve the process. Depending on the student, that may mean mnemonics for memorization, physical demonstrations for visual concepts, practice problems for pattern recognition, or building a reliable personal system for attacking unfamiliar questions.
My goal is not just to help with one assignment or one test, but to help students become calmer, stronger, and more independent problem-solvers. I also try to keep tutoring accessible when I can: I offer a 10% discount for first responders, veterans, educators, and their families, and I keep a limited number of reduced-rate options available for families experiencing financial hardship. If cost is a concern, please message me and I will do my best to work with you through Wyzant.
