Dawna was well prepared to meet me. Not only did she know the topic well but was able to communicate and explain it in a manner that was easily understood. She had even prepped prior to our session and sent me home with a terrific set of notes! This is how I envisioned a session with a tutor. I would definitely contact her again if the need arises in the future.

Great Tutor for ACT Prep
We tried several other tutors before we found Dawna. We initially chose Dawna because of her availability and willingness to meet close to our house, but in the end, got a terrific tutor and had great success on the ACT. Because the ACT is only given on certain days, her willingness to meet frequently before the test and to be flexible in schedule time was critical. She was patient and worked very hard to determine my son's needs. She was able to determine his weaknesses and work with him on new strategies to achieve the ACT score he needed. They worked on all areas of the ACT, but eventually, focused on reading speed, and that was a turning point. He enjoyed working with Dawna and mentioned that she was quick to get to work on what they needed to do in each session. We appreciated that greatly because she used the tutoring time wisely, was organized, and always had a plan for what they would cover each meeting. She was direct with him about what he needed to do and was also willing to talk to me by phone so that we could continue to work on strategies in-between their sessions. Her communication with me was very responsive and provided me feedback on his strengths, weaknesses, and progress he was making. I would highly recommended Dawna for anyone looking for a tutor! 5 STARS
