I bring 11 years of elementary teaching experience, a Master’s Degree in Reading (K–12), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education to my work with students. I am highly trained in all five essential components of reading—phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension—and I use ongoing, data-driven assessments to identify each child’s specific strengths and needs.
In my own classroom, I work with students in targeted small groups based on assessment results, and I have also extensive experience tutoring students one-on-one, both during the school day and through individualized tutoring outside the classroom. Each tutoring session is tailored to the child, with frequent progress monitoring and intentional instruction to ensure steady growth. This personalized approach has resulted in consistent, guaranteed reading improvement, increased confidence, and stronger academic performance. My goal is to help students not only improve their reading skills, but to develop a love of reading and confidence as learners.
