I am a retired teacher with 26 years of teaching experience. I have taught special needs students at various grade levels. The last 10 years of teaching I taught at the elementary grade level. I enjoyed working with special needs students in the special education classroom as well as in the regular education classroom. I worked with students in small groups as well as one on one instruction. I have taught various subjects to students over the years including reading, written expression, math, living skills, and even social studies and science. I have worked with students with various disabilities such as Down Syndrome, Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and more.
I have a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, IL. I also have completed special education classes from Missouri Southern State University, Joplin, Mo. and a master's degree in Elementary Education from Pittsburg State University, PIttsburg, KS.
I have enjoyed creating lessons for students that address their specific academic needs as well as addressing behavioral and social skills needs.
