Hello! I'm a communications professional and former social science educator with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Social Science Education from Northwest Missouri State University. I also hold Excel Basics, Excel Beyond the Basics, and PowerPoint certifications from Pryor Learning.

While earning my degree, I tutored at the university level for three years. These were private tutoring sessions to students in American history and government. During this time, I worked alongside a professor to tutor 20+ students in American History 1887 to the Present with course work and exam preparation. This involved helping them understand the learnings from that week and preparing for exams through fun activities. In 2018, I completed my student teaching at Kearney High School, teaching sophomores American History and seniors Government. My approach to tutoring is supportive and structured: I meet each student where they are, help define clear goals, and build a personalized plan to achieve them. The students I've taught range from high school sophomores to college students, and now to professionals of all ages.

Currently, I work full time at AMC Theatres' home office in Learning & Development designing training programs for theatre associates, writing social media content, business communications, and standard operating procedures. I also teach a business communications course focused on the 4-step communication process for effective written and verbal communication. I regularly coach others in writing and presentation skills. I specialize in helping individuals build confidence and polish their presentation skills for interviews. I completed an interview preparation course in college and have since coached managers and general managers on internal interview readiness. My approach includes practicing posture, refining clear and well-rounded responses, reviewing resumes, and strengthening nonverbal communication.

I have over eight years of experience in public speaking, including teaching, presenting at conferences, and delivering project presentations to key stakeholders. I've completed a formal Presentation and Facilitation Skills course. I've also designed and taught a presentation skills class to managers. My coaching focuses on building confidence, improving delivery, and creating clear, engaging content for any audience. I help students strengthen their presence, organization, and communication so they can present with clarity and impact.

I have extensive experience in both developing and teaching communication strategies. I created a 4-Step Communication Process designed to help people strengthen their writing, and I developed a Foundations for Written Communication course that has been implemented in my organization. In my current role, I am responsible for all Learning & Development communications, including social media announcements, training program launches, and the writing and updating of standard operating procedures. I also created and currently teach a business communications course for managers. These experiences have given me a strong background in writing for diverse audiences with clarity and impact.
