I’m Trina and I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I have learned over time that I am most comfortable working with students 1 on 1 or in small groups. I love the individual attention you can give a student in a smaller setting. You are also able to tailor the lessons to meet your students where they are while building on that. I firmly believe that learning should be fun. I give my students all the knowledge and support they need to be able to be confident learners. I also teach using different methods based on how the student learns best. The one thing I never tire seeing is that look on a student’s face when they realize they have fully grasped the concept being taught.
I have tutored students 1on 1 and in small groups of 3-5 students for two years. I have mainly focused on reading and math, but I am also able to tutor in all elementary subjects. I have been tutoring my autistic son for the past 7 years. I homeschooled my daughter for 5 years.

I first find out exactly where your student is at and then build on that by challenging them to reach higher levels of reading. I use reading material that will be interesting to the student based on what their likes and interest are.
