Hello! My name is Sydney, and I'm passionate about helping students build confidence, reach their goals, and discover that learning can be enjoyable. I believe every student can succeed when instruction is personalized to meet their unique strengths and needs.
I graduated magna cum laude with bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education (Cross Categorical K-12), as well as a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently pursuing a Specialist degree in Educational Diagnostician and an additional certification in Special Education Administration. My educational journey has allowed me to learn from exceptional educators and develop evidence based teaching practices that I now bring to every tutoring session.
I have several years of experience teaching and tutoring students from preschool through sixth grade, primarily in special education. I currently serve as both a Special Education Teacher and Special Education Director, giving me extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including emergent bilingual learners. I am certified to work with all thirteen disability categories recognized under IDEA and am passionate about advocating for every student's success.
My dedication to education has been recognized by my colleagues and administrators. During my second year of teaching, I was nominated for my district's Culture of Excellence award, and in my third year, I was honored to be selected as Teacher of the Year.
My goal is to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress. I focus on building meaningful relationships, communicating clearly, and tailoring every lesson to each student's learning style and goals.
