Hi, my name is Sydney! I am so thankful for the opportunity to tutor and want to share what I have learned with you.
I graduated magna cum laude with a double major Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education: Cross Categorical K-12. I also graduated magna cum laude with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership K-12. I am currently in the process of my Specialist degree as an Educational Diagnostician. During my years of my own education, I received the opportunity to learn alongside many successful educators and were able to observe the impact that comes from teachers working directly with you to individualize instruction. This experience drove me to my passion of teaching special education. I consider myself an advocate for students who receive special education. I am certified to work directly with all thirteen disability categories under IDEA and I have successfully done so in my years of teaching.
I have taught for four years; all have been within special education and tutoring after school, preschool through 6th grade. I have taught in many diverse settings and work closely with many students who are emergent bilingual. My second-year teaching, I was nominated for the district reward of Culture of Excellence in teaching by my coworkers, peers, and administration. My third-year teaching, I was not only nominated but I was selected as the Culture of Excellence in teaching, or Teacher of the Year.
I have had the opportunity to learn alongside many students and many of my greatest skills were obtained by delivering an individualized instruction and integrating a learning experience for my students. Due to these experiences, I am also beginning my learning of Braille and ASL. These skills allow me to enhance my number one priority, an effective and clear communicate with my students.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to tutor online and continue to learn alongside many students to come. I am looking forward to individualizing a learning experience for you and your student!
