I am a dedicated, enthusiastic person who looks forward to helping students realize their own potential and see their grades improve, along with their confidence in themselves. I was a classroom teacher for 14 years in a rural school in Missouri. I have taught all grade levels from Kindergarten, third, fifth, sixth, and junior high. I love to teach all disciplines, and believe that students need all approaches to learning from textbook, to hands-on activities. My goal is to keep students challenged but not overwhelmed. Like I mentioned I use several different teaching methods for my students, and when I see my students not understanding a concept, I switch to a different style of learning. I will also administer periodic assessments and progress reports.
I try to be flexible with my time, but do require a 3 hour cancellation policy. I prefer to come to the students home for lessons for their convenience, and familiar surroundings. I myself being from a small rural town in the middle of nowhere, and living with 3 teenagers, it is difficult to find quiet time at my home. There may be times when I can hold a session in a library or local building, or maybe on a beautiful day sit in a park and have outdoor lessons.
