Hi, my name is Justin! I am a University of Missouri, Columbia student studying political science and economics on the pre-law track. In high school, I graduated with high honors. I was inducted into the National Honor Society and other honors organizations for high-performing students. This is not about my performance but what I can do for my students. Throughout my years of education, I have had my fair share of poor teachers and a variety of teaching styles, so I could adapt to many students' learning styles and practically any educational boundary I come across.

I have 2 years of tutoring experience in a variety of subjects. This experience comes from my high school Junior and Senior years, where I participated in a program through our library and outreach programs, where we would go to surrounding schools (Elementary and Junior High) and provide educational help to students who signed up for the aid for that week. This was an entirely voluntary program in which I put in 5 hours every week to ensure that students who needed extra attention and aid were given a fair opportunity, judgment-free.

Helping students brings me so much joy. When I see that light bulb turn on in their eyes when the topic finally makes sense, all the hours and hard work are worth it. I am also a student, so I have been there and will probably find myself there in the future, so having someone to talk to through it is vital. I want to be that for you!

Flute

Flute

Starting in high school, I engaged with my high school's theater productions in the aspects of the orchestra pit, developing different instrumental skills, including flute. In my senior year, I was the principal woodwind musician in the pit, where I played clarinet, alto saxophone, flute, and soprano saxophone. I also actively participate and volunteer during the summers with local theater programs in the Springfield, Illinois area, where I have played multiple woodwind books that included intermediate flute parts.
Oboe

Oboe

At my university, Mizzou, I participate in various ensembles, one of which I play the oboe. My freshman year of high school, I took lessons with the oboe professor to enhance my skills, and this year (my sophomore year), I auditioned and was granted the position of principal oboist. In high school, I also taught lessons privately to junior students interested in learning the oboe as a ploy to get students to switch to oboe for high school ensembles.
Saxophone

Saxophone

I have played the saxophone for years, spanning the different types of saxophones, including alto, tenor, baritone, and soprano. I was an Illinois All-State musician during my senior year of high school and participated in multiple ensembles. I actively participate in Marching Mizzou, where I march alto saxophone; requirements include submitting a vigorous audition excerpt and being able to teach new members marching and playing techniques.
