Izabel L.

My name is Izabel, and educating, empowering, and storytelling has been the core of my personal and professional journey. From my early days as a broadcast journalist and producer at WSIU-TV and WSIL-TV, to leading strategic communications in education and nonprofit sectors, I’ve always used public speaking and engagement as a tool to build trust, educate, and inspire change.

With a B.A. and M.S. in Broadcast Journalism and Media Management, I launched a media career focused on producing award-winning content around public health, campus mental health, and community equity. I soon realized I wanted to do more than tell stories—I wanted to shape them. This led me to co-found a production and talent agency, where I now lead multimedia campaigns across health, education, and nonprofit sectors.

In tandem, I launched a wellness initiative focused on bridging health literacy with community outreach through digital media, public speaking, and workshops. My work connects families and students—especially those from underserved backgrounds—with resources that support academic, emotional, and physical well-being.

For nearly 20 years, I’ve also served as a private tutor and mentor, helping K–12 and university students—particularly from underrepresented backgrounds—navigate their academic and career paths. I have also worked with students at the university level, and taught English as a Second language to students at advanced career levels, dominantly master’s and doctoral students working on their professional research. Empowering others to find their voice and succeed is among the most fulfilling aspects of my work. Today, I’m especially drawn to opportunities where I can blend purpose with practice—shaping meaningful student experiences through thoughtful communication, content strategy, and community engagement.
