I hold a Bachelor of Science from Maryville University of St. Louis and am currently pursuing a Master of Education at Capitol Technology University, where my coursework focuses on teaching and curriculum for today's learners. I also hold several professional certifications, including CompTIA Security+ and ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, which reflect my commitment to continued learning and help me support students in digital literacy and technology skills alongside core subjects.
Since March 2025, I have worked as a substitute teacher in the Parkway School District, where I lead classrooms across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. In that role I follow teachers' lesson plans, keep students on task, and adjust my explanations on the spot when a student is confused. In 2024, I served as a teaching assistant with WeGotNext in Cyber, supporting a remote K-12 curriculum and tracking student progress. I currently work with Pearson Connections Academy, an online public school, where I help students and families every day with the tools and processes they need to stay on track with their learning. I have also designed and led hands-on workshops, which taught me how to break big ideas into manageable steps.
My approach is patient and student-centered. I start by finding out what a student already understands and where they feel stuck, then build from there with clear examples, practice, and frequent check-ins so they can show what they've learned in their own way. I believe confidence is just as important as content, so I make a point of celebrating progress. Outside of work, I volunteer as Chief People Officer for the BGH Foundation, leading a community of more than 100 contributors, which has strengthened my communication skills with people of all ages and backgrounds.
