I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, along with a Bachelor’s degree in English with a Creative Writing emphasis in poetry and a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature. My academic background has given me a deep understanding of both analytical and creative approaches to language, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in their writing, reading comprehension, and Spanish skills. As someone who is dyslexic, I also bring a personal understanding of the challenges that can come with learning, and I strive to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace.

In addition to one-on-one tutoring, I worked as a Supplemental Instructor for two years at one of my alma maters, where I supported students across three different Spanish courses. In this role, I led study sessions, helped reinforce course material, and worked with students of varying skill levels in both group and individual settings. This experience strengthened my ability to explain concepts in multiple ways and adapt my teaching style to meet different learning needs. I have also worked individually with students to strengthen essays, develop creative writing pieces, and improve clarity, structure, and overall confidence in their work.

My tutoring style is collaborative and personalized. I believe that strong writing and language skills come from both understanding the rules and feeling confident enough to use your own voice. Whether we are working on an academic essay, a creative project, or Spanish coursework, my goal is to help students not only improve their skills but also feel more capable and confident in their abilities.
