I have a diverse background and have tutored several students with a gentle and adaptive teaching style. There are many different approaches and resources when it comes to studying and learning material, and I would be glad to explore these to determine what best suits your needs.

During a one-hour tutoring session with me, you can expect to work through 1-2 complex problems or review 2-3 structured pages, with emphasis on understanding the underlying concepts and strategies. My tutoring approach focuses on building your conceptual understanding and/or problem-solving frameworks—so you can succeed not just on today's assignment, but throughout the entire course!

For students studying for exams: While I can't help with a large quantity of questions in one sitting, I can help you develop your Study Skills. As a bioengineering major, I know how hard it can be when you have so much material to review and so little time. You’re welcome to book with me to learn how to efficiently maximize your time, master what you need, and succeed on your exams!

My strongest subjects are biology, writing, and math, with additional experience in physics. I'm passionate about helping students develop the strategic thinking needed for long-term success!

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra is such a fundamental skill that will create the foundation for important higher-level courses like calculus and differential equations. This comes easily to me as an engineering major and former math club competitor, and I’d be more than happy to teach you or your child everything I know to succeed in these courses!
Algebra 2

Biology

Biology

When I was an undergraduate, I placed into the Quantifying Biology in the Classroom (QBIC) program, which is a highly selective, calculus-based, and experiment-based 4-year advanced curriculum. I went on to intern at the Mayo Clinic, where I worked on PCR, cellular immunostaining, and cryo-sectioning of mouse tissue. I also worked for 3 years at the Tissue Engineered Mechanics, Imaging, and Materials Laboratory, where my partner and I formally published our research. After graduation, I went on to work as a biomedical engineer in the real world, and was even recruited to help with Pfizer COVID vaccine development work!
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

I have tutored younger and older family members with math, and have recently had successful sessions on Wyzant with elementary students. I am very patient and also know how to use visual and handy methods for the student to learn the operations needed.
English

English

I have received perfect As in all writing courses I've ever taken, and have written perfect standardized test essays, including for the GRE. Writing and grammar come naturally to me, and I can teach the student the guidelines and tricks that will make them an excellent communicator!
Essay Writing

Geometry

Geometry

Geometry is a particularly important subject that will create the critical foundation for multivariable calculus. While my degree is in biomedical engineering, my focus in the field was mechanical engineering, and I have previously worked as a mechanical engineer. Now I work in aerospace engineering!
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I still vividly remember the first time I had to write a personal statement. I wrote it for the FIU Honors College, had my friend’s college professor look at it, and was shocked at how much more effort I needed to put in! Ever since then, writing personal statements have become much more manageable. The following are honors I have earned using personal statements: FIU Honors College acceptance, QBIC program acceptance, NACME Scholarship, Ronald E. McNair program acceptance, MARC U*STAR program acceptance.

Proofreading

Proofreading

I have received perfect writing scores on the GRE, and my resume writing and credentials have earned me jobs at the largest engineering companies in the world. In the aerospace industry, I developed expertise in tracked changes. This means I can help to ensure that all of your desired edits make it to your final document.

I have experience with various clinical therapy modalities and am well-informed on the topic of psychology!
Study Skills

Study Skills

As a bioengineering graduate, I had to explore different methods to learn my material and maximize my time. This is so important for succeeding in academics, and I’m happy to help you or your child do the same!
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

At university, I completed two major thesis projects. One was through the Advanced Research and Creativity through the Honors College (ARCH) program on heart valve biomaterials. The lab work my partner and I did for this project culminated in a publication in the Journal of Long-Term Effects of Medical Implants, which I co-authored. My second thesis was through the MARC U*STAR fellowship on cardiovascular cell biology. This work required extensive research, literature review, and clear scientific writing—skills I developed through rigorous training in academic research and communication. I can help you at any stage of your thesis: developing your research question, organizing your literature review, structuring your argument, or refining your writing for clarity and impact.
Writing

Writing

When I was a student of the FIU Honors College, I completed multiple seminar courses that developed my ability to write compelling analytical and research-based essays across diverse topics. My background also includes technical writing in aerospace engineering, where precision and clarity are essential. I help students at any stage: brainstorming ideas, structuring arguments, developing thesis statements, or refining drafts for maximum impact.
