Hi there! I’m Christina, a passionate math teacher dedicated to helping students conquer math anxiety, master difficult concepts, and actually start enjoying the subject! Whether you are trying to catch up, keep up, or get ahead, I believe that math doesn't have to be overwhelming. My goal is to break down complex problems into clear, bite-sized, and logical steps so that everything finally clicks. I strive to make connections and create "aha" moments that allow students to retain content and move forward in their learning.

I have a bachelors degree in Middle School Mathematics Education and a Masters in Administration. I have 18 years experience teaching math ranging from 6th grade math up to Honors Geometry. I have had the role of math specialist for 5 years where I work with students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade who struggle in math and need additional support. My content knowledge is extensive and I use teaching strategies that help students who struggle as well as students who want to enrich their understanding of math. In addition, I have taken part in multiple math intervention research studies through the University of Missouri to enrich my own learning to better help students.
In addition, I have tutored students who are incoming 5th graders through middle school, Algebra I, Honors Geometry and up to Algebra II. In our sessions we focus on what what students need such as homework help, concept mastery, test preparation, and building long-term study confidence.

Every student learns differently. I take the time to figure out how your brain works and tailor my explanations to fit your learning style. My sessions are structured, low-stress, and collaborative. I focus not only on getting the right answer for today's homework, but on teaching problem-solving skills that will last a lifetime.
