I am a licensed elementary education teacher. In addition, I hold a kindergarten license and early childhood license for the state of Minnesota. I have taught elementary students through the Title 1 program. The Title 1 program services students who are in need of assistance but do not qualify for the special education services. I studied extensively in the area of sensory motor stimulation deficit. I have worked with children who have Autism, language disabilities, and Down's Syndrome. I am understanding, compassionate and sensitive to the various needs and learning styles of my students. I always strive to learn from my students- to learn where they are at and help them to see and reach their potential. By providing various strategies, examples and challenges, my students learn how to become successful learners.
My tutoring is provided under the WyzAnt Tutoring service. WyzAnt is responsible for managing the tutoring payment. My fee of $38 per hour is paid directly to WyzAnt who then pays me for my services on a scheduled time period. Due to the structure of this service, it is essential that all people involved understand the signed agreement of this contract. All of the tutoring sessions will be arranged individually with consideration to the driving distance. An agreed upon public location will be set. Each session is one hour in length. If at any time the schedule changes or services cannot be rendered for any reason, a 24 hour cancellation notice is required.
I remain committed to serve the needs of every student in their educational quest for success.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
During my year of teaching Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) I taught children in the Autism spectrum. For the nonverbal and verbally challenged children I planned and taught through pictures and sign language. I provided large and fine motor stimulation while working closely with other specialists.
I am a licensed school teacher. I earned my kindergarten and elementary degree through Bemidji State University. I completed the requirements and graduated from Southwest State University with a Masters in Education degree.
I am qualified to teach phonics because I have an elementary teaching license. I have three years of experience teaching phonics as a Title 1 teacher. Many lessons were the original classroom lesson to be completed with my assistance while other lessons were supplemental phonics worksheets and activities. The materials I used came from the classroom teacher, from my own research, and from supplemental texts provided by the district. I have also taught phonics in the elementary classrooms as a substitute teacher.
When in college, I was trained in the SQ3R study skills method for reading comprehension. I have used brain-based motor stimulation exercises for getting students ready to learn and for retention. I have taught Title 1 students using alternative and supplementary lessons designed for individual needs. I have resourceful methods of providing students with organizational skills related to their education.
