Hello! My name is Alexis, and I am currently a university student majoring in Psychology with a 3.85 GPA. I graduated as Valedictorian of my high school, Tecnológico De Monterrey, in 2020. Aside from being accomplished in my studies, I have regularly worked as a teacher of elementary and middle school students. I often volunteered at church and summer camps to give lessons, and always found the work immensely rewarding as helping to nurture bright, young minds is one of my passions. I also frequently found myself reviewing my friend’s homework for them, proofreading their essays, and helping others study for exams. I have enduringly believed that it’s the teacher—and not the material itself—that makes or breaks a lesson, and I have incorporated this knowledge in both my professional and voluntary work.
I have a very diverse background, and my exposure to various cultures and traditions has allowed me to appreciate the splendor of inclusivity. I live out this enthusiasm for respecting and embracing diversity through my work at the Center for Inclusive Excellence (CIE) in Saint Peter, MN. I mention this as I would like to assure all my students that they are seen and appreciated for who they are and that they may bring their own uniqueness to the table for us to work with!
My teaching method consists of formulating a game plan that best suits each individual student—I recognize that the needs of every student may look different. This is why I first consult with each individual student about what works best for them, and accommodate accordingly.
Most importantly, everything I set myself up to do I carry out with my deepest sincerity. Being sincere in my desire to help my students is my standard, and having an open and fluid communication with students or parents facilitates this process so that I am aware of my students’ current standing and goals.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
