I have taught university-level courses at some of the best schools in America, including the University of Washington, University of Pittsburgh, Michigan State University, and Kent State University. I always provided plenty of feedback and suggestions on how students could improve their writing and research.

What courses have I taught? Quite a few, both at the university graduate and undergraduate level. Some of these include:
American Politics
International Relations
Introduction to East Asia
State & Development in East Asia
Politics of China
Modern History of East Asia

As a faculty member, I received over ten teaching awards, including the Distinguished Teaching Award from Kent State University and Who's Who Among American Teachers (twice!).

I have written an award-winning book and over 50 academic and popular articles, books reviews, and chapters on North/South Korea politics and society, national identity, human rights, US-Korean relations, and international education in East Asia. So, I know what good writing looks like.

I have tutored English conversation, writing, and reading for university level students and professionals for over 10 years. I have taught English in Korea and the US to students from around the world. I have worked with international students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

My goal is to make sure you succeed in learning and become succeed.

I care about you learning and growing intellectually and professionally. The reason I love to teach is because I love to make a difference in the lives of my students and help them succeed.

I would be happy to talk with you more about how I can help you improve your learning, grow professionally, apply to a US university, and succeed and graduate from your university. Thanks and I hope to talk with you soon.
