Pain from a car accident brought me to my first group class back in the 90’s. I was amazed at how relaxed and centered I felt—more than ever before. In 2006, I became a yoga teacher. Since then, I’ve earned a yoga therapy certificate (C-IAYT) and a few more yoga teaching certificates for a total of 8 years of study. My favorite was at a center for yoga therapy in Chennai, India. As a yoga therapist, I’ve helped people reduce pain, anxiety and depression; improve sleep, digestion, focus and breathing; boost energy, get strong, and learn tools to consciously relax. I’ve taught in studios, community health, and clinical settings.
How to get started: We’ll have an intake of 1-2 sessions to create your practice. I have a questionnaire I’ll send which you can return to me before we meet. In the first meeting, we’ll chat about your interests and goals. We’ll try some movement and breathing techniques, and see how they feel. I’ll send you a written-out copy of a brief practice to get started, and we’ll expand that in the second meeting. First lessons are 90 minutes, and from there you can choose 60 or 90 minutes. We can meet online or in person at my sweet office space in St. Paul, MN.
