First session impressions
My first tutoring session with Thalia for conversational French was very productive. She is lively, engaging, and personable. She speaks clearly and not too fast, facilitating comprehension. The lesson was very organized, though often a free form back and forth conversation. She was both supportive yet not hesitant to point out problems with phrasing and vocabulary. I both enjoyed the lesson and felt I learned a good deal.

Brilliant, entertaining, and creative teacher
My daughters (11 & 14) started working with Thalia early in 2020 to prepare for a summer-long work trip to France, then the pandemic hit. We continued anyway, and it was the best decision ever. There is no pressure, but Thalia will support you at any level you want to work for. My younger one is super shy and usually doesn't speak EVER, let alone in French. Thalia has a background in theater, and she used this during the lessons to draw her out with games and story-writing. My older one later decided to prep for AP French, so Thalia gave her extra "homework" and resources. She just took a placement test for college classes and placed at an intermediate level. Since she's doing that, we're just skipping the AP. The girls recently started taking piano lessons in French. To my surprise, they were fluent and managing the entire lesson without speaking English. When we started with her, they could barely manage ordering baguettes in Paris. I appreciated her flexibility throughout the pandemic and the girls' changing goals for French (travel? tests? music vocabulary??). As the parent, it was good to check in with her once in a while on that. I can't imagine them doing this well with another teacher, as part of her talent is managing the girls' personalities, work style, and French goals while having fun. After all this time, they look forward to lessons every week. In short, she has my highest recommendation.

Thalia helped me work on basic and difficult French pronunciation, she answered my grammar questions, and helped me develop my French fluency. We started by working on the alphabet, then typically difficult letter and letter combination pronunciation. I had many questions and Thalia always answered them happily and well. We then practiced those sound in words, and I asked her about many words I had come across before and had trouble with. She also took good notes that I was able to study from after. Finally, we practiced speaking and Thalia was a great listener who made me feel comfortable enough to speak while also providing useful feedback.

Wonderful French Tutor!
Thailia is wonderful! She is kind and patient and is a wonderful French teacher. We started doing lessons as a family and we have been so busy she was just teaching my 2 girls and she has be SO kind and patient with them
